You could also collect the basic Ursine Steel or Silver swords from the Ruined Inn near the south-central coast of Ard Skellig or the old fort east of Kaer Trolde, respectively. The initial armor set can be found in Skellige, at the peak of Yngvar's Fang north of Urialla Harbor.
